Our Purpose
Antrim Brethren in Christ Church exists to present Jesus Christ and equip believers to know, love and serve God and others. This purpose statement flows from Jesus command to love God supremely and others as ourselves (Mark 12:29-31), as well as Jesus commission to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19, 20).- To know, love and serve God.
- To present Jesus Christ.
- To train and equip believers.
- To love and serve others.
Our church logo, seen in the upper left corner of this site, illustrates this purpose statement. The background cross indicates that we do everything under the backdrop of Jesus and His life-giving sacrifice for us. The stalks of wheat are His symbols for a world waiting to be reached with the Good News of the gospel. The open book stands for the Bible, which is our rule for faith and life.
Our vision at Antrim Church is to have a dynamic, Christ-centered, Spirit-filled church where many people come to know, love and serve God and others. We believe God has called us to be a regional church, targeting a larger geographical and demographical area than just a single community. We see many boys and girls, men and women flowing into the church in order to serve God effectively where they live and work.
Our values reflect the overall core values of the Brethren in Christ denomination, of which we are a part. Those ten values include:
- individually and corporately experiencing God's love and grace
- firmly believing the Bible
- worshipping God with all our hearts
- wholeheartedly following Jesus
- actively belonging to a mutually accountable community of faith
- lovingly witnessing to our world
- serving others compassionately
- pursuing peaceful resolution to all forms of conflict and violence
- living simply to be able to help others
- relying totally on God for everything we do
