All the proceeds from the car show are for the benefit of Reese Burdette –

Reese’s childhood was literally short-circuited. An electric fan in her bedroom overheated, sparking a fire at her grandparent’s house over Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures in the inferno reached 1,400 degrees. The burns over 35 percent of Reese’s body weren’t the worst part. She suffered extreme smoke inhalation, so devastating to her heart and lungs that she had to be placed on a complicated bypass system normally not used for children.

After 662 days at the Johns Hopkins pediatric unit, Reese Burdette has spent the last year at home enjoying all the normal things in life. She continues to improve daily and is on the path to recovery. Her schedule stays busy as she is an active fourth grader at Mercersburg elementary school, is involved in 4-h , dance, and chorus. Along with weekly trips to Johns Hopkins for speech and hearing therapy as she adjusts to her new cochlear implant and renal appointments to continue her kidney evaluation and work towards a transplant. Reese also does weekly therapies in McConnellsburg, PA to help adjust to her prosthetic leg.
